About San Gabriel Valley Event Center
San Gabriel Valley Event Center is a family operated event venue business in Old Town La Puente, California. The Sanchez family runs two indoor celebration spaces here: the Bourbon Room and the Louisiana Room, together seating 200 to 300 guests. This is the story of how a warehouse built in 1896 became all two.
Our History
From an 1896 Building to an Event Venue in Old Town La Puente
The story of San Gabriel Valley Event Center starts more than a century before the first celebration was held in it. The building went up in 1896 and served as a military depot.
In 2006, Frank and Brenda Sanchez bought the warehouse and gave it a very different life. It became Francisco's Halloween Shop and Francisco's Custom Tees, now FC Printing and Awards, operated by Frank Sanchez Jr. For over a decade, the building was known around La Puente for costumes and custom shirts rather than weddings.
The family entered the event business in 2014, when they opened Casa De Sanchez nearby. After years of hosting weddings, quinceañeras and family celebrations there, a second opportunity appeared. The Halloween business closed in 2018, which left the original warehouse empty and the family with an idea.
Permits, blueprints and construction began in 2019. Then the pandemic stopped everything. Work resumed in 2021, and the warehouse that once stored military supplies and Halloween costumes became the Bourbon Room and the Louisiana Room.
Most venues in Los Angeles were built to be venues. This one earned its character before anyone thought to hold an event in it, and you can still see it in the exposed brick and the original bones of the building.
Events and Services at SGV Event Center
The venue is only part of what you book. A full package can include up to eight hours of event time, tables and chairs, linens and decoration plates, built in uplighting, TVs for your slideshow, two hours of digital photo booth, a licensed bartender, security guards, venue staff, bussers and cleaning. The things most venues quote separately are already on the list.
Services
San Gabriel Valley Event Center hosts weddings, quinceañeras, Sweet Sixteens, birthday parties, anniversaries, baby showers, corporate events, banquets and other private celebrations. Our indoor spaces handle different guest counts, with the Bourbon Room seating up to 200 and the Louisiana Room up to 300.
Catering
Catering works the same way. We offer in house menus with Mexican, Italian and American options, and a tasting once you select a catering package. If you would rather bring your own caterer for a buffet, you can, at no additional charge. There is no cake cutting fee, no corkage fee, no bar minimum and no food and beverage minimum.
Additional
Additional services such as DJs, photography and video, backdrops, event coordination, dessert tables and specialty décor may also be available depending on your event and the package you choose.

San Gabriel Valley Event Center is in Old Town La Puente, in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County. The Bourbon Room and the Louisiana Room sit next door to one another on Old Valley Boulevard, which means you can tour two different venue sizes in one visit, on one street, without driving across town.

Our La Puente location serves couples, families, businesses and event hosts across the San Gabriel Valley and the greater Los Angeles area. Guests can arrive by car or rideshare, and designated public parking is available at no charge, so nobody spends the first twenty minutes of your event looking for a spot.
Our Team
San Gabriel Valley Event Center grew out of the Sanchez family's work in La Puente. Frank Sanchez and Brenda Alvarez lead the business as CEOs, continuing a story that started when the family bought the historic warehouse in 2006 and moved into the event industry with Casa De Sanchez in 2014.
The team today also includes Kristine Sanchez as Marketing Director, along with customer service representatives Sam Murillo and Brandon Miranda. They are the people who answer when you call, walk you through the rooms and stay with your event from the first tour to the last song. Same names, start to finish.
